Branson to Launch Elegant Adults Only Cruising

Scarlet Lady

Visionary business mogul Sir Richard Branson and the Virgin Group is launching an adults only cruise through the Virgin Voyages brand. Renderings of the ship, Scarlet Lady are certain to capture the imagination and spirit of cruising.

In a somewhat different approach to design, Virgin employed the services of numerous designers from the world’s top hotel brands and restaurants frequented by the rich and famous.

The ship is geared to those 18-years-of-age and older and will be enforced.

The ship features Richard’s Rooftop, a chic private outdoor lounge exclusive to the ship’s suite guests. The Dock is another outdoor relaxation area for ship guests designed for sunbathing by day and star-gazing at night.

The interior offers two main restaurants. The upscale modern restaurant Pink Agave will feature Mexican cuisine. This setting offers hanging blue lights and curved lounge tables. The other restaurant, Test Kitchen has a cool metallic-steel vibe with faux periodic table serving as light fixtures in the entry way.

Scarlet Lady offers a slew of wellness features for the health conscious traveler including something called Vitamin at Sea. In addition, there will be hosted fitness classes such as sunrise and sunset yoga from The Crow’s Nest and the Runway Running Track. The outdoor Athletic Club includes a boxing ring, gym equipment modeled after a 1920s sports club, with rooms for spin and other cardio.

For the environmentally conscious Virgin plans to eliminate single use plastics such as straws, shopping bags, food packaging bottled water and condiment packaging to name a few.

According to Virgin Voyages, this ship is expected to arrive in the Port of Miami in 2020 for its maiden journey, headed for the Caribbean. Scarlet Lady has a capacity of 2,700 passengers and a crew of 1,150.

And this is just the beginning for Virgin. A second ship is expected to be delivered in 2021, followed by a third ship, delivery date unknown at this time.
